Our Story
Happy Harpers was founded in 2020 as a free-of-charge community platform dedicated to introducing children and youth to the beauty of Burmese harp, music, and culture. What began as a small initiative with thirteen enthusiastic participants has grown into a vibrant community committed to preserving and celebrating Burmese cultural heritage.
Our name, "Happy Harpers," reflects our core philosophy: that learning music should be a joyful, accessible experience for everyone. We believe that Burmese music and cultural traditions deserve to be celebrated and passed on to new generations.
Today, Happy Harpers continues to offer free music camps, organize educational trips to culturally significant sites, and foster a supportive community where the traditions of Burmese music thrive.
The original name "Happy Harpies" and distinctive visual identity were created by illustrator AhHtet, whose artwork captures the joyful spirit of our mission.
